Rothesay, Isle of Bute
POA

About this Service
Rothesay Castle, an impressive moated fortress on the Isle of Bute, offers a wedding venue like no other, combining historic grandeur with unique architectural features. Built in the early 1200s, the castle has strong ties to the Stewart kings of Scotland and boasts a dramatic circular design and imposing gatehouse. Couples can choose from several ceremony spaces including the Great Hall with its thick stone walls and beamed ceiling, the intimate St Michael’s Chapel, or the picturesque open-air Courtyard. The venue accommodates various sizes of celebrations and is wheelchair accessible in key areas. Photography bookings are also welcome. Please note that while religious and humanist ceremonies are available, Roman Catholic weddings cannot be performed here.
